1. Illegals are given temporary visas for them to return after a number of years, no-body would come forward. The illegals would see this as shooting themselves in the foot. They would prefer to remain in the dark and live here permanently. Purpose defeated.
2. A tough enforcement only bill is passed, with the hope that there would be attrition after a while: How long would it take for all 12 million illegals to finally leave? 1 million per year? 500K per year? 24 years? Yeah right! Ok assuming they leave at a rate of 500K per year (which I know wouldn�t happen) what would be the rate of inflow of more illegals?? What would be the balance of illegals after say 10 years? Think about it.
3. Give them a path to citizenship. Well they are here anyways but this idea might jeopardize the bill.

So my proposal is: Since �a path to citizenship� is the major road block to this bill, make a law that gives the Illegals an opportunity for GC but include in the law that �Anybody that ever comes into the country illegally CAN NOT become a citizen�. i.e they can get a green card but they can never be eligible for citizenship. I am sure this is a reasonable middle ground�. a path to PR but not citizenship. I am sure those illegals don�t care about citizenship anyways. They just want to be free and be mobile.

Just my thots.

My labor has been collecting dust in the Dallas BEC since 2001, my PD is Nov 2001, non-RIR. The online system still states that my case is in process. I am equally frustrated like all my fellow BEC victims, but I think there is no reason to feel left out or unhappy just because some people could jump the queue and get in front of us. The best we can do is congratulate them on their good fortune and hope that the DOL sticks to their deadline and clear all BEC cases by sep. If they miss the sep deadline (i wont be surprised if they do), I guess IV can help us in organising another flower campaign or a rally based on the recent success.

Lets keep the faith and stay the course !!!

-Remove Country cap. Its unfair for people born in india to wait decades while other nationals get their visa almost immediately.

Once USCIS completes data entry of all 800K 485s (may be with in next month) they will have clear picture. They may give a report to DOS, how many waiting in each catagory (EB1,2,3) with PD with countrywise break out. Then DOS will easily setup the cutoff dates. This may happen in Jan or Feb.

I feel that EB3 India may stay like this (in 2001). EB2 India may go back to 2003 or 2002 , based on how many guys in EB3 with PD 2002, 2003 converts to EB2. All other countries may see slight forward movement.

I had the same issue for the last month or so. Also the message that comes up once the login fails is misleading. It tells you that you might have been disabled, or you are acessing a donor forum etc. or you are trying to edit someone else's post. (it will be very helpful to add a message about the privacy setting there)

Why do I get a feeling you are incapable of digesting the concept of "Law of the land". There are certain rules that govern PR & Citizenship statuses ( of all countries)and only land mark & ground breaking edicts can alter such law’s , and that too very slightly. To put it were tersely "this is a bullshit suggestion" and is really wasting the purpose of this forum. The only reason so many people have responded is that it is "THAT RIDICULOUS"

buddyinsd08-04 01:24 PMI'm 06 and I know exactly what u r saying...Many 06 guyz got approved in 2008 but all those cases were from TSC where the processing times had reached 06. Freakin NSC was behind in processing and hence our cases were stuck. I'm assuming ur case is at NSC....

But come to the present day, everything is in place for our approvals. I'm confident v all will get it this time. Just a matter of time and its frustrating rt now...YES.


I went through the same frustration in 2008 when many 2006 got approved even when my date was current.
Looks like the same thing is going to happen again -- most of the approvals are from 2006 and I am still stuck forever..what the *&%^ing going on....
